Mamaia Resort – The French Long for the Good Old Days

Mamaia, Constanța: Second Participation in the Paris International Tourism Fair

Nostalgia, excitement, many fond memories, and a zest for life. These are the four key elements that the French visitors highlighted on the first day of the Paris International Tourism Fair, once they arrived at the Mamaia-Constanța destination booth. They fondly recalled what the Mamaia resort looked like in a long-forgotten era and happily leafed through the presentation brochures.

The Mamaia Constanța Destination Management Organization returned for the second time to the Salon Mondial du Tourisme in Paris, where over 400 exhibitors are competing to showcase the most beautiful destinations from the farthest corners of the world.

World Tourism Fair, Paris 2025

“While Paris offers a captivating experience for anyone visiting France for the first time, we returned for the second time to the Salon Mondial du Tourisme to show the French that Romania also has plenty of tourist attractions and destinations worth promoting. On the first day of the event, we met many French seniors who fondly recalled the Mamaia resort from 30, even 40 years ago. In years when many of us weren’t even born yet, they reminded us of a time when French was spoken just as much as Romanian in the Mamaia resort. They are eager to return to our destination. The French love getting out into nature, so in addition to the tourist attractions in Constanța and the resort, we are considering offering them tours to the wineries in Dobrogea during the 2025 season, as well as other active options, to encourage them to return tothe destination,” said Oana Silviana Crăciun – Communications and Public Relations Specialist at OMD Mamaia Constanța.

The Mamaia-Constanța destination booth was visited on the first day of the event by representatives of the Romanian Embassy in France; the delegation was led by Liviu Rogojinaru, Minister-Counselor at the embassy.

At the Romanian booth, visitors were able to enjoy traditional products from Bucovina as well as tastings of authentic Romanian beverages on the first day of the event.

Travel enthusiasts can visit Romania’s booth through March 16 at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, alongside other destinations from our country that are part of Romania’s delegation to Paris for this year’s edition of the travel fair.
