The second day of the WTM London Travel Fair began for the Mamaia Constanța Destination Management Organization with meetings aimed at attracting airlines to the coast and putting the destination on the European tourism map, with Mamaia competing against resorts in Greece, Spain, and Italy.
Representatives of Mihail Kogălniceanu International Airport held productive discussions with several major European players—Fraport Greece and Croatia Airlines are just two of the companies that have expressed interest in launching flights to Mamaia-Constanța, with the support of a tour operator.

British travel publications were not to be outdone. The Mamaia Constanța BLACK SEA COAST desk was visited today by several prominent figures from the media. Representatives of international travel magazines were interested in attracting young people to international music festivals such as Neversea or Sunwaves, as well as in the luxury segment of the Mamaia resort:
“Establishing partnerships with tourism-focused media groups such as TTG Media, APA Publications, or Selling Travel—which have readerships in the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland—would have a significant impact on attracting British and Irish tourists to Romania’s Black Sea coast. Once we conclude all the meetings scheduled during the three days of the tourism fair, we will identify the best options and determine how we will develop these partnerships for at least one year, so that the Mamaia resort and the city of Constanța, with all they have to offer, are promoted through advertorials and features in international tourism magazines alongside Europe’s major resorts,” says George Măndilă, President of the Mamaia-Constanța Destination Management Organization.

On the final day of the travel fair, representatives from our organization will continue to share updates and photos of what’s happening at the event. At the same time, the eight promotional films about Romania—produced in collaboration with British filmmaker Charlie Ottley, known for his documentaries “Wild Carpathia” and “Flavours of Romania”—were screened at every booth representing the country’s destinations participating in the event. This is another indication that the British tourist market can be an important benchmark for the Romanian coast and, by extension, for the Mamaia resort and the city of Constanța.
Our association’s participation in international tourism fairs is part of the OMD’s efforts to promote the Mamaia-Constanța destination.
