Today, November 14, we celebrate Dobrogea Day —the moment in 1878 when this region, with its centuries-old identity, officially became part of the modern Romanian state. Dobrogea, a meeting place of cultures, religions, and civilizations, has always served as a bridge between East and West, a territory unique in Europe due to its ethnic diversity and the ability of its communities to coexist harmoniously.

For the Mamaia-Constanța Destination Management Organization, Dobrogea Day is not only a historical celebration but also an opportunity to reaffirm our role in promoting the region’s cultural, natural, and tourism heritage. Dobrogea deserves to be at the center of a modern tourism strategy—one that prioritizes local identity, community engagement, and year-round continuity.
